Herbal Oasis
About

We make one thing,
for a lot of names.

Herbal Oasis produces miswak — the Salvadora persica chewing stick — and supplies it to brands, distributors and marketplace sellers. Some of it goes out under our own labels. Most of it goes out under somebody else’s.

01The business

Miswak has been used for oral care for centuries. What it has rarely had is a supply chain a modern brand can actually build on.

The traditional trade is informal. Sticks are cut, dried and sold loose, with quality that varies between one bundle and the next. That is fine for a local market and impossible for a brand that has to answer to customers, a marketplace and a returns rate.

Herbal Oasis exists to close that gap: consistent wood, individually sealed, packed to a specification that can be repeated, and available under whatever brand name the buyer needs on the front of the carton.

02How we work

Three things we are strict about.

01

One product, done properly

We have not diversified into a catalogue of unrelated wellness items. Miswak is the whole business, which is why we can be specific about the wood rather than vague about sourcing.

02

Claims we can defend

The literature on Salvadora persica is real and it is also narrower than most pack copy suggests. We would rather hand a partner three defensible claims than ten that invite a complaint.

03

The same stick every time

Grading and sealing are the parts of this business that decide whether a brand keeps its reviews. They get more attention than anything else we do.

03Sourcing & sustainability

A crop that regrows, a product that returns to soil.

Salvadora persica is a hardy shrub that grows in arid and saline ground where little else will. Sticks are cut from the plant rather than replacing it.
  1. 01

    Salvadora persica

One species, commonly called peelu or araak. It is the wood the tradition is built on and the wood the research is done on.

  2. 02

    Nothing added

The stick is the root. Its own chemistry — silica, tannins, fluoride, essential oils — does the work. There is no formulation step to get wrong.

  3. 03

    Sealed one at a time

Every stick is vacuum-sealed individually, which is what keeps the last stick in a ten-pack as fresh as the first.

  4. 04

    It is wood

The stick itself is a plant root with no plastic, no bristle bonding and no handle to dispose of.

The individual sleeve that keeps each stick sealed is currently plastic film. We say so rather than describing the pack as plastic-free.

04On the record

What can actually be claimed.

Miswak has a real literature behind it. It also attracts a lot of marketing copy that the literature does not support. These are claims we are comfortable standing behind, with the sources attached.

Nothing here is medical advice, and none of it is a substitute for a dentist. We do not claim our products treat, cure or prevent disease.

05Brands we work with

The same stick, eight different names.

A selection of the labels our packs go out under — some our own, some belonging to partners. It is the clearest illustration of what a private-label programme actually produces.
